Imitation Hard Enamel Process for Smooth and Polished Surfaces
Imitation hard enamel, sometimes referred to as synthetic hard enamel, is a coloring technique designed to replicate the smooth surface appearance of traditional cloisonné enamel. This process creates a flat and polished finish where the enamel surface is level with the surrounding metal lines.

The result is a refined appearance that is often chosen for premium lapel pins, badges, and commemorative metal products.

Layered Enamel Application
During the imitation hard enamel process, enamel paint is applied to recessed areas of the metal design in multiple layers. Each layer is baked and hardened before the next layer is added. This gradual buildup allows the enamel surface to reach the same height as the metal borders.

Once the enamel has fully cured, the entire surface is polished to create a smooth, flat finish.

Smooth Surface Finish
Unlike soft enamel products where metal lines remain raised above the enamel, imitation hard enamel produces a flat surface where both metal and enamel appear level. This polished effect gives the product a more refined and jewelry-like appearance.

The smooth surface also improves durability and makes the product easier to clean and maintain.

Popular Applications
Because of its elegant finish, imitation hard enamel is commonly used for:
― Lapel pins and badges
― Corporate recognition pins
― Commemorative coins and medals
― Collectible metal pins

This process combines visual sophistication with modern manufacturing efficiency.
